4 Sightseeing Highlights Not To Miss – Moscow Russia – 2009

In 2009 I had the opportunity to visit Moscow, Russia for a business trade expo.  It was an exciting experience to go visit the place where for most of my life has been forbidden in my mind.   Being a child in the 1970's - 1980's we were taught that Russia was the primary enemy of the United States.   My father favored war and spy movies that at this time mostly featured the the KGB as the most sinister organization in the world.  Having literally traveled almost 2,000,000 miles via air so far this was my most apprehensive trip to date.  I can…

Ballarat, California – An interesting place in the middle of no where

I first learned of Ballarat California on one of our dirt bike riding trips in the Mojave desert.  On our dirt bike trips we stay in the town of Randsburg which is a living ghost town. This trip started in Las Vegas and I made the drive through the desert to Trona, California.  The route took me thorough Death Valley National Park.  February is a perfect time of the year to visit this part of the world.  The drive was about five hours with a few stops for food and breaks.  I found a cheap hotel so I could rest…

Budapest Hungary by Night

Budapest Hungary I arrived into Budapest in a hazy fog after flying for seventeen hours over night.   My first impressions of Budapest was what I remembered as a child watching the news with my parents about the European Communist countries.  It was rainy, cold and dreary.  The buildings and city was a bit run down the people looked tired and many a bit sad.   Like most of my travels I arrived into Budapest without much knowledge of the city or the history of Hungary.  This was one of only several trips I have made in to the Eastern Europe which…
