Budapest Hungary

I arrived into Budapest in a hazy fog after flying for seventeen hours over night.   My first impressions of Budapest was what I remembered as a child watching the news with my parents about the European Communist countries.  It was rainy, cold and dreary.  The buildings and city was a bit run down the people looked tired and many a bit sad.

Like most of my travels I arrived into Budapest without much knowledge of the city or the history of Hungary.  This was one of only several trips I have made in to the Eastern Europe which was previously communist.

After a quick nap I we hit the streets for some quick sightseeing and dinner.

My hotel was in the heart of some great sightseeing.  Directly across the river from my hotel was the Castle District which is beautifully light at night which had me excited to get out and see some of the city.
